Chapter History

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia was chartered on March 29, 1927 and remained active until 1977. It was then rechartered on November 6, 1983 and remained active until 1987. It was rechartered a second time on October 27, 2013 and is still active today. The chapter initiated prominent composer Aaron Copland on March 1, 1961. The chapter also initiated famous artist Ted Degrazia on February 22, 1936. Many important figures in the fraternity have also visited the chapter including National Executive Director Ed Klint, past National President John Mongiovi, and Brother Rollin Pease who revised our ritual.
